OUR NOMADIC RETIREMENT!
We're embracing a nomadic lifestyle, exploring global destinations at our own pace.

We're Ian and Alain, a freshly retired couple in our early 60s, hitting the "reset" button on life. In 2025 we sold our business and 99.9% of everything we owned, and waved "so long" to our home in Victoria, Canada.
Our compass is set for adventure, and we're planning to spend the next ten years embracing a nomadic lifestyle as we explore the world. We're adopting a philosophy of slow travel, meaning we'll be settling into regions like Southeast Asia, Mexico, and Europe for longer stretches. This isn't just about seeing sights; it's about immersing ourselves in local cultures, languages, and oh yeah, food!
This approach also ties directly into our commitment to budget travel. By living in different countries for extended periods, we're leveraging the concept of geo-arbitrage – making our modest Canadian nest egg stretch further in places where the cost of living is lower.
This site allows us to share our new life with friends and family back home, not just to keep you updated, but with a not-so-secret hope that you might be inspired to join us for a visit somewhere along the way.
Taking a breath on the road means taking the time to share.
With the structure of our old life firmly behind us, each day is a lesson in freedom, adaptation, and finding comfort far from home.
Our blog is a candid look at how our adventure in early retirement and global travel is panning out, and what we've learned since our last check-in.

Here's our itinerary
We've checked Ontario, Puerto Vallarta, a trans-Pacific cruise and Tokyo off the list. Next up, Bangkok until the end of December. Then Bali, then Vietnam...
